Quest for Fully Painter: A Quest of Colossal Proportions!

I'm currently working on getting lists ready for the Inter-mountain Cup (IMC) Also since I won best painted army last time, I'm hoping to get all 3 of my lists fully painted before then. The format will be 3 lists, character restrictions, use each list at least once. This makes for some difficulty as I will be flying and don't want my models jacked up, which means I need to compress and double up as many things in my lists as possible.

Something Colossal this way comes...

Well now, where the hell have I been lately?

I've been moving across the country that's where I've been. Also been pushing articles to a collaborative blog called the Geek Garage.  Anyway decided to try and get some more post up here on my original blog.

With the advent of Colossals/Gargantuans for Warmachine/Hordes I was initially unimpressed. I didn't like the aesthetics of my chosen factions design, that being the Protectorate of Menoth's Judicator. I was hoping that they would use the design of the Castigator chassis but instead its' far more inspired by the Avatar of Menoth, a model I've not always liked. But the more I've seen it the more I liked it. So I broke down and bought the bad boy.

Still have a ways too go on the paint but I'm hoping to have him finished up in a week or 2.

Also of note is that for some dumb reason I wanted him to have an open hand. So I chopped up the hand and built an armature and rebuilt it with some green stuff. Wish I would have taken more pictures but the creative urge just had me building it mostly in one night.

Till the next time.

New Meta and some news

So a while ago I had mentioned some future posts incoming soon and have failed to follow through. I have been going through some job changes and have sadly had most of my hobby supplies packed up. I'm hoping to change that soon now that I am close to getting a house in my new hometown and hope that this little tidbit will warm you all over till I can make some real posts.

Tomorrow will be my first tournament in my new meta. A Foodmachine event to be precise. To those not in the know, this event is a Privateer Press official event where you are normally allowed to spend cans of food to get certain cheats in game. This event will tone down the normal amount of hijinks but will also let you buy cheats with cash and then donate the money to charity as well. This will also be a departure from my normal 50 pt meta and go down to 35 pt so I'm needing to come up with some new lists for this event.

I know for sure I'll be running the Harbinger of Menoth as one of my lists but am torn between several other lists. My alternates are both a tier and non-tier Vindictus list, Grand Scrutator Severius and the High Reclaimer.

Man I've let this place go... Got distracted from my progress on Ashlynn's army and worked up some stuff on a new blog my friends put together; The Geek Garage! Lots of good collaborative works going on there with lots of very talented people so please check it out! I will be posting more up on this blog and keep it going so don't fear new pictures will be coming soon!

More Work on Ashlynn

Here she is assembled, after all the greenstuff.

So in all, I've repositioned both arms and also got rid of her lace since that portion always looked ridiculous to me. I tried making it match her cloak somewhat and I think I've gotten a good look on this piece. Next up, PAINT!

Remodeling Ashlynn

So my FLGS is starting it's Journeyman League this week and I've decided to use Ashlynn D'Elyse.

She is a strong caster and one who I have always liked the backstory on. Also I have had her and a Mule since MK I and a few other things that would work well in a Highborne Covenant list that I otherwise would not really use with my Protectorate forces.

As can be seen in the link the original sculpt is just awkward to say the least. To fix that I've been working to make a few minor changes that should make her bearable to me at least.

Here is where I've started.

Chopped up both arms with a saw and completly reposed her sword arm and just bent her pistol arm slightly so she doesn't suffer from the weird stiff arms that she normally comes with.

Shaping up to be pretty good. More to follow soon.

Hello All!

Hello to any who find there way here. I'm going to try and use this blog as a tool to keep me motivated on painting miniatures and probably lots of random thoughts.

Hope you enjoy
